What digital platforms are students currently using to develop their professional network?

According to this pandemic spread all world, a new form of study platform has been created. That is online classroom. I’m not sure if North American has it or not. However, I know many of my chineses friends would love to join into online classroom. is very similar to zoom in that you can turn on the camera and microphone. But unlike zoom, it is an open site that anyone can access, thus creating the atmosphere of studying in a library.

I think it will enhance our professional learning network because it will have different groups, and you can enter a group and have a discussion or just study. Also, Onlien classroom could efficiently improve the quantity of your works based on my personal experience.

What could the student consider in expanding their professional learning network?

If I expand on my last question, I think one of the significant drawbacks of this type of learning is safety. Because it is available to anyone and does not require authentication, there may be some criminals, whether they are fraudulent or spread bad information.

Question: Discover what an employer would find based on your V+R Map if you applied for a job with them?

Julie’s V+R map

V+R map is similar with mind map, both can show your thinking.

According to my V+R map,

  • I spent most of my time on netflix, tictok or play games like, LOL, TFT.
  • Since I don’t divide my email into work-only and personal-only, I need to open my email every day to check if there’s something I’ve missed.
  • As a student, I never closed my brightspace.

However, I don’t think any employer would like to hire me if i show my V&R map like this:). Too many entertainment apps show on my group instead of tools to enhance myself.

  1. Hi Julie!

I love your V&R map. I too always have my brightspace open! I really appreciate that you brought up online classrooms as a growing application because it’s something we all experienced and have had to adapt to. However, at the same time, it has expanded our learning possibilities without the worry of location!

    • Hi Abruck,
Thanks for your comment! I really appreciated that we have the same idea about the online classroom. I thought very few people knew it.
