What are the benefits of a diverse and inclusive PLN in social media sharing that understands where you are coming from with messaging that impacts the community?

  • According to Dewey on Democracy, William R. Caspary summarized that every discussion should be “without race, sex, class, and status.” Those four elements created the benefits of a diverse and inclusive PLN in social media. Because of the diversity and the inclusion of PLN, the latitude of information we receive can be vast. This is where we need to think critically to determine if this information is helpful to ourselves. This is also a good exercise for community thinking.

Consider the audiences and how we adapt our messaging accordingly.

  • When we need to practically deliver our message to our audience, we first need to make our language straightforward and not include too many professional terms. Secondly, we also need to be credible narrators, which requires our resources to be accurate.

Research our guest and see how they leveraged their network into a campaign.

  • From the interview with Markiel Simpson, he talked about how he deal with the negative review in his blog. He said that he is confident who he is, so that he doesn’t really care about the negative review. As confident as he is, he has an evident head, which is why he can accurately convey the meaning of black lives matter to us. In addition, the whole process from being a student to expanding his network and transmitting his ideas is also very admirable.
